This is a good move to take an opponent out with you when your Gardevoir is about to faint. This makes Psyshock a more viable move because of this because people might send a Sp. The only downside of using Psychic instead of Psyshock though is that Psyshock causes Physical damage but uses special power. Psyshock can also be switched out with Psychic since it has a base 90 power with the same accuracy. With Moonblast's base power of 90, and Psyshock's base power of 80, these moves can be a real threat and make Gardevoir a good Special Sweeper, and Revenge Killer. Gardevoir's great coverage with its STAB moves give Moonblast and Psyshock serious power. This stat difference isn't a deal breaker though with Mega Gardevoir's base 100 Speed. A perfect Gardevoir with a Modest nature and a Life Orb has a Special Attack of 497, and the same Gardevoir with Gardevoirite instead has a Special Attack stat is 471. The stat increase of its Special Attack and Speed almost make up for the loss of having a Life Orb on your Garvevoir when using its Mega Evolution. Mega Garevoir can also be very useful with its offensive boost, but its defensive stats are virtually untouched. Moves like Dazzling Dream can also be used in place of Psychic because of its better coverage in the Metagame. With a base 125 Special Attack these moves could be worthwhile if you are looking for a normal Calm Mind sweeper. It also has some very useful offensive and tanky moves like Shadow Ball, Psyshock, and Focus Blast. Will-O-Wisp, Destiny Bond, Encore, Memento, Dual Screens, Thunder Wave, Trick Room, Toxic, Hypnosis, Sunny Day, and Rain Dance are some of the many gems in Gardevoir's move pool that can be very useful. Speaking of Gardevoir's moves, this Pokémon has a fantastic movepool. The protective nature Gardevoir has over its Trainer also suggest that it is based on a guardian angel. Its design resembles a principal dancer, and its exaggerated head with minimal facial expressions and a featureless physique could also be attributed to a style of traditional Japanese paper doll, anesama ningyou. It also states that Gardevoir has the ability to see into the future. These names reflect Gardevoir’s Pokédex entries, which explains how Gardevoir will protect its Trainer, even if the cost is its own life. Its Japanese name is Sirknight, and its American name may be a combination of the French words garde (guard) and devoir (duty) or garder (to keep) and voir (to see). Despite its appearance, this Pokémon has an even gender ratio of 50% male and 50% female. This Pokémon is great competitively, and like the Psychic typing would imply, this Pokémon has a strong Special Attack and a weak Attack. After Gen VI though, this little dancer knight was given its second type and became a Fairy Pokémon.
